ADMISSION

School:

There is a timetable for admissions to primary schools within the county. This is to give time to allocate a place for each child before the start of the school year and to enable the school to prepare for the child’s entry. Each year parents are asked to apply for their preference on-line via Lancashire County Council’s website:

www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools

The Primary School Admissions booklet are compiled by the county (usually before the start of September) and are published on their website. This booklet contains all the information parents need to apply online, admission criteria September 2024  closes 15th January 2024. The offer of a Primary School place will be made to parents in April 2024.

Children are admitted to school at the beginning of the academic year in which they have their fifth birthday – September 2024. The admissions number for Sabden Primary School is 15 for each year group. Places are allocated by the local authority, who also manage the appeals procedure should numbers exceed 15.

During the term prior to admission, the children are invited for taster sessions in the Reception class and parents of those children are invited into school one evening in May/June when we hold our introduction information evening.

Informal visits to the school are always welcome
