Sabden Primary School is an inclusive school aiming to enable every child to reach their full potential. We use the Special Needs and Disability Code of Practice (DFES 2014) to inform our practice in providing for children with special educational needs.

The Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) is Mrs. Elizabeth Maskell, who is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all provision for children who have Special Educational Needs or a disability (SEND).

Special Educational Needs covers a wide spectrum and applies to children who experience learning difficulties, have behavioural or emotional problems, as well as those who have medical needs, suffer sensory impairment or are disabled.

If you are at all concerned about a difficulty your child is having, please make an appointment via the school office to speak to either your child’s class teacher or the SENCo, Mrs Elizabeth Maskell to see how we can help and support.
